## Currently in class...

Students in Algebra are currently studying linear inequalities. They are writing and solving inequalities to represent situations. Students are interpreting the solutions and graphing them on number lines. One of the important concepts was developed using a "human number line". Using this number line and observing what happened to the order of the two original values led students to discover that they must FLIP the inequality whenever they multiple of divide by a negative value.

Students are also reviewing how to write linear equations. They are using many strategies for the various situations (tables, graphs, verbal descriptions, numeric information) to find the slope and y-intercept needed for their equations. They will soon be using this skill to create best-fit lines that model real-world data that they will collect themselves.
